Sibal inaugurates proteomics facility at NIGPR
New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal today called for setting up world-class structures with environment conducive for scientific research to attract more students to the field.
''Biotechnology is important in many ways to find solutions to problems related to environment, food and health,'' Mr Sibal said after inaugurating the proteomics facility and laying down the foundation stone for the student's hostel building at the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) here.
The proteomics facility is a state-of-the-art facility to unveil biological process in plants. It is for profiling and isolation of proteins to understand gene expression in plants by using high resolution two dimensional and mass spectrometry fragmentation technique.
