Chennai, Nov 7 (UNI) Upset over the criticism of PMK supremo S Ramadoss on new industrial policy, Tamil Nadu Electricty Minister Arcot N Veerasamy today said the PMK leader had made the comments in a hurry.
He said the new industrial policy was announced after a thorough scrutiny and research.
He said for more than a year several studies were made and a panel of senior ministers was constituted to go into it.
While all the industrialists in the state hailed the policy, Dr Ramadoss pointed out its disadvantages.
Denying the charge that the new policy had put the task of creating job opportunities on the back burner, he pointed out that efforts would be made to provide jobs to 20 lakh people.
Rebutting Mr Ramadoss' accusation that the policy would impact the agricultural economy in the long run, he said only waste lands would be acquired for industrial parks and SEZs.
