Prices of majority of essential commodities remain steady
New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) Retail prices of majority of essential commodities generally remained steady over the week ending November 5, 2007.
Prices of wheat at retail level remained steady at all the monitoring centres.
As monitored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, retail price of sugar remained steady over the week across all the centres, except Lucknow where it increased marginally.
Prices of gram dal generally remained steady across majority of the monitoring centres. Its prices increased in Chennai, Bangalore and Lucknow.
Prices of tur dal declined in Delhi, and increased in Lucknow, Kolkata and Bangalore.
In Delhi, as on November 5, prices of gram dal, groundnut oil and milk were holding steady for one week; those of rice, wheat, mustard oil, vanaspati, potato, salt and tea loose were steady for one month and price of sugar for six months.
Price of atta was holding steady for over one year.
