LJP to ally with Cong in Gujarat, HP polls: Paswan

(LJP)
is
in
the
process
of
forging
an
alliance
with
the
Congress
to
contest
the
assembly
elections
in
Gujarat
and
Himachal
Pradesh
together,
LJP
chief
and
Union
Steel,
Chemicals
and
Fertilisers
Minister
Ram
Vilas
Paswan
said
today.
''I have urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi that secular forces should fight the elections together and the deliberations with the Congress are on to forge an alliance to contest the assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh together,'' Mr Paswan said while talking to reporters here.
He said the two parties might also go in for a joint campaign in the polls and would have talks over seat sharing after the alliance was clinched.
Mr Paswan said the LJP would organise a national level rally at Patna on November 28 to mark its foundation day.
