New Delhi, Nov 7(UNI) A former US embassy employee has been arrested on charges of helping 30-odd people, who masquerading as members of a musical troupe, approached the mission seeking visas.
Police said Sanjay Kaushik, who has a visa consultancy firm, was apprehended on Monday from his house in Janakpuri in west Delhi.
Sanjay earlier worked as a visa consultant in the US embassy and was fired from the job after authorities found that he allegedly colluded with some travel agents and provided them travel documents illegally, police added.
They said Sanjay allegedly helped 32 people led by Punjabi pop singer Dolly Malkit Singh, who were arrested early last month after they approached the embassy for visas with forged documents.
Sanjay was in the know of every detail of getting a visa due to his past work experience and he also tipped some candidates on the visa interview, they added.
