Shimla, Nov 7 (UNI) The BSP today accused both the Congress and the BJP of cheating the tribals and said the successive state governments had failed to live up to the expectations of the tribal people.

Addressing public meetings at Bharmaur, party's state convenor and chief ministerial candidate Vijai Singh Mankotia said the tribals had seen the functioning of both the governments, which had only hoodwinked them by making false promises.

He said over 70 per cent of the people of the state were still living below poverty line though the Congress had ruled the state for over 60 years.

The residents of Bharmaur have seen the real face of the Congress and the BJP and would teach them a lesson in the coming assembly elections, he said.

Mr Mankotia said the BSP, on coming to power after the polls, would provide employment to the educated unemployed on the lines of what the party has achieved in Uttar Pradesh.

The BSP has emerged as a third force in the state following the failure of the BJP and the Congress on all fronts, he added.

National party secretary Man Singh Manhera, former transport minister Kewal Singh Pathania and state secretary Puran Chand were also present on the occasion.
