Nabha, Nov 7 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the management of the Public schools to adopt one Government school each in its vicinity to impart quality education to the deprived students to enable them to compete with the public and convent educated students.

Addressing the 47th Founders' Day Celebrations and Prize Distribution function of Punjab Public School (PPS) here, Mr Badal said the SAD-BJP Government was committed to revamp the existing education system in the state to provide quality education to the students through the newly developed concept of 'Adarsh Schools' in the state.

He declared that the whole school education infrastructure curriculum and directions would be given a 'modernising touch' within the next three and a half year.

Underscoring the need to revolutionise the educational scenario in the state, Mr Badal pointed out that conventional education alone would not help the youth in securing good job and vocationalisation of the education was the need of the hour.

He said that the state government had embarked upon an ambitious programme to open skill development centers throughout the state to impart technical training to the youth to improve their chances of employability both within the country and abroad.

Appreciating the outstanding contribution of the PPS towards the society, Mr.Badal said such institutions of national repute should act as 'role model' to benefit the under privileged and economically poor students especially hailing from rural areas.

Earlier, the Chief Minister took a round of an exhibition put up by the students and the computer lab. He also had a meeting with the members of the faculty. He also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the development of the school.
