Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council today witnessed unruly scenes with irate Congress and TDP members jostling against each other, leading to the abrupt adjournment of the House for the day.
The trouble started when Council chairman A Chakrapani asked Congress MLC P Venkat Rao to initiate a short duration discussion on the issue of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.
TDP MLC Yadagiri menacingly rushed towards the Congress MLCs, who exhibited their lung power.
Immediately, Congress MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, who was sitting in the back benches, came to the front row and entered into a wordy duel with the TDP member. Then the TDP members came in support of Mr Yadagiri and utter pandemonium prevailed in the House.
TDP member Y B Rajendra Prasad lost his balance in the jostling.
With no signs of order returning to the House, the chairman abruptly adjourned it even before the debate on MSP could be initiated.
Earlier, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members staged a walkout in protest against the government's stand on monitoring the implementation of special component plan for SCs and STs.
