United Utilities engages Infy to modernize OMS
Bangalore, Nov 6: Infosys Technologies Limited announced yesterday that it will engage with United Utilities, a utilities company in the United Kingdom that manages electricity, water and wastewater networks, to modernise their Operations Management System (OMS). With this engagement, United Utilities aims to increase scalability and flexibility of its enterprise architecture through adoption of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which is important to achieve regulatory compliance, involving the end to end design, development, migration and replatforming of OMS.
United Utilities selected Infosys because of their Legacy Modernisation solution which utilises principles of SOA to create a flexible IT environment. Over a period of nine months, Infosys will deliver a comprehensive approach to SOA adoption with frameworks, methodologies and re-usable tools to facilitate United Utilities' transformation to a service oriented enterprise.
