Dehradun, Nov. 6 (UNI) Captain Mithali Raj's 105 runs and Preeti Dimri's five wickets haul helped Railways team to post a 98 runs victory against Uttar Pradesh with bonus pointeds in Senior Central Zone Women's One Day League played here today.
The team bundled up the rivals for 122 in 49.3 overs as against its set target of 220 in stipulated 50 overs losing five wickets.
Skipper Mithali Raj scored 105 not out and Hemlata Kala contributed 32 before bowing to Zeenat Qureshi. Opener Sulakshana Naik scored 20, Rumeli Dhar 18, Jaya Sharma nine, Saranjpe seven and Reema Malhotra 12 not out.
Uttar Pradesh had a very slow start and lost its first wicket in the ninth over with only 19 runs on the score board. Radha Saxena scored the highest 25 for the team followed by opener Chitra Singh contributing 20. Nistha Farashi and Shikha Dabi added 16 runs each and Priyanka Shailly contributed 12 runs. No other players could reach double digits and were sent back to the pavillion with 122 runs all out in 49.3 overs. Preeti Dimri picked up five wickets giving 15 runs in 10 overs and Reema Malhotra took three wickets allowing 21 runs in 7.3 overs.
With today's win, Railways team has qualified for the knock out round with a total of 20 points. Earlier, it has registered an out right win over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidharba gaining 5 points each including bonus point in every match.
