Chandigarh, Nov 6 (UNI) Punjab today directed the release of 6 per cent Additional Dearness Allowance (ADA) installment with effect from July 1, 2007 on Central pattern to about 3.5 lakh employees of the state government.
Stating this here today Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Harcharan Bains said the decision would also benefit the pensioners and they would be paid 6 per cent ADA in cash with effect from July 1, 2007.
He said that amount of ADA to employees from July 1 to September 30, 2007 would be credited to their GPF accounts and from October 1, 2007 to February 29, 2008, 50 per cent of ADA would be paid in cash and 50 per cent would be credited to their GPF accounts.
The state government's decision implies a bonanza of Rs 271.91 crore from the state exchequer. The net outflow for the current financial year would be Rs 181.85 crore, said Mr Bains.
