No development scheme would be abandoned: Badal

Phagwara, Nov 6 (UNI) No Development Scheme would be stopped mid-way at any cost, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said here today.

The CM was here to attend 'bhog' ceremony of Late uran Singh father of Chief Parliamentry Secretary Sarwan Singh Phillaur at his native village Chuck Des Raj in Phillaur sub-division this afternoon.

Earlier, addressing a large gathering Mr Badal announced a grant of Rs 10 Lakh for the village and said SAD-BJP Government has come out with attractive developmental plans for urban and rural areas.

He disclosed that World Bank has offered to develop a scheme of Rs One Crore for the development of a such village whose residents contributed 5per cent from their own pockets.

The Chief Minister also said that 3.5 lakhs employees of the state will get a Diwali gift of 6 per cent ADA installment wef July 1, 2007 on the Central pattern. This would also benefit the pensioners who would be paid 6 per cent ADA cash w.e.f July 1,2007.

Mr Badal said the amount of ADA to employees would be credited to their GPF accounts.

The SAD-BJP Government was working sincerely for the over all development of the state, Mr Badal later told reporters while denying reports of differences between the alliance partners. Senior leaders of both parties were meeting on a routine basis, he said.

When his attention was drawn towards controversial issue like urban power tarrif hike, Mr Badal said no issue would be left unsolved as both partners were working in a cordial atmosphere.

Mr Badal also said the elections of all Municipal Committees would be held on schedule.
