Locals loot 'foodgrains' in drought hit Mahoba district
Mahoba, Nov 6 (UNI) The recent foodgrain loot incidents by the locals of the drought hit Bundelkhand region has left the district administration in a tizzy.
One Amarchand was held captive as looted foodgrains in Natarra village of Panvadi development block.
In a similar incident, masked-men deceived one farmer Ramsaharey and decamped with three quintals wheat in Bamhori Kurmin village yesterday, sources said today.
Sub divisional magistrate Gangaram Gupta said ''the situation is worsening day-by-day...there is no rainfall in the area from the past five years, following which problems like poverty, starvation, and unemployment have started gripping the people.'' Meanwhile, gram pradhan of Natarra village Arvind Rajput said, ''hunger has forced people to rob food.'' Investigations were on into the matter, the district administration informed.
