Ranchi, Nov 6 (UNI) The Jharkhand Khadi and Gramodyog Board, formed just two years ago, is the only profit making board in the country.

The board so far registered a profit of Rs 40 lakh, President Jaynandu told UNI here today, claiming that except Jharkhand, the rest of the 32 boards had been incurring losses.

The board has 12 branches all over the state, he said, adding they were being run by 15 permanent dedicated employees.

On December 20, the board is going to hold an exhibition where countries from South Asia Association for Regionl Cooperation (SAARC) are mainly expected to take part, Mr Jaynandu said adding deatils of the programme were being worked out.

He said during the industrial exhibition to be held on the occasion of the seventh foundation day of Jharkhand on November 15, the board will set up 43 stalls.

Khadi products worth Rs 2 crore from other state boards will be displayed in the mela where pashmina shawl ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh per piece would be the source of attraction for pandal hoppers.
