Gang selling weapons, bought from Maoists, held
Lucknow, Nov 6 (UNI) The Bahraich police has arrested three members of a gang involved in arms smuggling and recovered a large number of weapons from their possession.
Police sources said here that the gang allegedly used to buy small arms from Maoist cadre, in neighbouring Nepal and sell the same at a higher price in Uttar Pradesh.
The arrests were made yesterday following a tip off that some people were trying to sell weapons.
Three revolvers, a 9 mm pistol and over two dozen .32 bore and other cartridges were recovered from their possession.
