Drunken brawl: 3 TNSP cops arrested

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 6 (UNI) Three police constables of the Tamil Nadu Special Police (TNSP) Battalion were arrested on the charge of allegedly attacking a functionary of ruling DMK and his car driver here last night.

Police said four constables of the TNSP battalion picked up a quarrel with Kajamalai Vijay, a DMK functionary at a liquor shop near the railway junction. The heated argument led to a skumish in which the constables thrashed Vijay and his car driver.

On information police rushed to the spot. On seeing the policemen, the constables fled from the scene. However, three of them were caught by the police and arrested.

The injured Vijay and his car driver were admitted to a private hospital here, police added.
