Court snubs petioner seeking to challenge construction of haz house

Ranchi, Nov 6 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today dismissed a writ petition seeking to challenge construction of Haz house in the state capital and warned the petioner not to file such matter in future.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinayagam and Justice D K Sinha said this after hearing a writ petition filed by Citizens Forum Jharkhand.

The court observed that the matter was a ''politically motivated writ petition'' and not a PIL.

The court has warned the petitioner that if in future it filed such type of petition the court would impose fine and take stern action against it.

According to the petitioner, the piece of land allotted for the construction of Haz house by the state government was illegal.

The petitioner alleged that the state government could not give land to any religious committee for construction of religious shrine.

The state government gave land free of cost to the committee, it said ading the government also gave money for the construction of the same.

The land in question where the Haz house was to be constructed, has a pond which is used by the Hindu devotees during the Chaath Puja.
