Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council was adjourned for the day without any discussion on the inaugural day of the winter session today, as the opposition members stalled the proceedings, demanding an immediate discussion on the issue of hiking Minimum Support Price(MSP) for foodgrains, including paddy.
The trouble started when Council Chairman A Chakrapani disallowed the adjournment motion notices by the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on the paddy issue.
Initially, the House was adjourned for nearly 45 minutes when the opposition members, seeking immediate discussion on the MSP issue, disrupted the proceedings.
When the House reassembled, the Chairman announced that all the questions were deemed to have been answered and adjourned the House for the day.
Earlier, the House observed two minutes silence to condole the death of former MLC K L Mahendra.
