Bihar govt to install life size statue of Bismillah Khan
Patna, Nov 6 (UNI) Bihar Rachnatmak Samaj, a leading non-governmental organisation, has once again requested Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to install a life-size statue of Sehnai maestro Bismillah Khan at his birth place Dumraon in the state.
Samaj convenor Lallan Singh here today said they were very happy when the Chief Minister had announced his plan to install a life size statue of the shenai maestro and construct an auditorium at Dumraon soon after the death of Bharat Ratna Bismillah Khan in 2006.
''More than a year passed since then but not a single brick has been laid,'' Mr Singh lamented and described the construction of an auditorium as 'a distant dream'.
Requesting the chief minister for the dual project, Mr Singh urged him to take necessary steps to fulfill the long cherished dream of the people of Dumraon in particular and the people of Bihar in general.
