Rajkot, Nov 6 (UNI) Eight persons, including three members of a family, were killed and 13 others injured in two separate road accidents in this district of Gujarat.
In the first incident near Taraghadi, about 20 km from here on Rajkot-Jamnagar highway, three people were killed and two injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a truck yesterday.
The occupants of the ill-fated car were coming to Rajkot when the accident occurred, the police said.
The deceased have been identified as car driver Iqbal Malek (30), Nirav Shukla (25) and Parshotambhai Patel, police said.
The second accident occurred near Kagvad village in Jetpur taluka of the district yesterday. Five people, including three members of a family, were killed and eleven injured in a collision between a car and a private bus.
The bus was on its way to Upleta from here while the car was headed for Sanathali village from Jetpur when the incident took place. Nine of the injured have been admitted to the Jetpur Government Hospital while two seriously injured have been shifted to the Rajkot Civil Hospital, police said.
The three members of the family were travelling in the car while the other two deceased were bus passengers, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Vishal Rameshbhai Pansuria (25), his wife Mitalben (23) and their grandmother Sushilaben, Jayeshbhai Ghelabhai (25) and Samir Shah (25).
