Kozhikode, Nov 5 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today reiterated his Government's resolve to implement the Justice Rajender Sachar Committee report on the minorities in the State.
Inaugurating the Haj House near Karippur International Airport, he said the Government was awaiting a report from a sub-committee, headed by Local Self Governance Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty, on the issue.
An 11-member committee was appointed by the Government to study and recommend ways and means to implement the report.
Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed, who was also present, said a request seeking a grant of Rs 50 lakh for taking up finishing works at the Haj House, was under the active consideration of the Union Government.
Constructed at a cost of Rs five crore, the Haj House would provide accommodation to devotees proceeding to Haj pilgrimage.
