Nepal maoists admit their cadres killed Indian journalist Sah

Kathmandu, Nov 5 (UNI) The Maoists have admitted that their cadres killed Indian journalist Birendra Kumar Sah, Kantipur reported today.

A parliamentary committee formed to investigate the abduction and killing of Sah had concluded Maoists hand in the crime. It stated that the journalist was killed by Maoist cadres Kundan Phaujdhar and Ram Iqbal Sahani under the orders of their area in-charge Lal Babu Chaudhary.

Maoists have expressed commitment to give possible support to the state to initiate legal action against the assailants, Kantipur newspaper reported.

Ramdev Das, who was abducted along with the journalist, was, however, freed on the condition that they would kill him if he disclosed Sah's condition.

On October 4, Sah was abducted from Pipara Bazaar of Bara district. He was shot in a jungle in between Juguwa village of Sapahi VDC and Sukhuwa village of Kakari VDC in Bara district.

His body was buried in a ditch near the incident site.

The DNA and viscera of the body, suspected to be that of Sah, has been sent to Hyderabad for identification.
