Sultanpur, MP, Nov 5 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party, the main opposition party in Uttar Pradesh, today alleged that the Mayawati led-Bahujan Samaj Party government was ''working with vengeance'' in the state.
''Ms Mayawati is busy harassing the police, recruited during the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime...the fact is most of the BSP leaders have a criminal background,'' SP youth MP Akhilesh Singh Yadav told the media here.
This discrimination proved the CM was working with the feeling of enmity, he alleged, adding ''even the Governor is acting in a neutral way as if he cannot see the ever soaring crime rate of the state''.
Drawing a parallel between the present regime and the former SP rule in UP, Mr Yadav said ''Not a single penny was due to cane farmers in the previous rule, while farmers in the present regime are still awaiting the clearance of their dues.'' ''Crops are standing in the fields...there is a shortage of seeds and fertilisers...farmers are dying of penury, but Ms Mayawati is busy getting memorials constructed,'' he claimed.
