Lahore, Nov 5 (UNI) An ICC delegation, which has come to assess the preparations for the next year's Champions Trophy in Pakistan has called off their tour following the imposition of emergency.
''We are calling off the assessment tour because of the existing political situation in Pakistan and will return to complete the tour at an appropriate time,'' ICC spokesman Samiul Hasan was quoted as saying by 'The News'.
The five-member delegation had arrived on Friday. They had inspected venues at Lahore and Sheikhupura and were due to tour Rawalpindi and Karachi in the next two days. They were also due to finalise the dates of the Champions Trophy during their visit.
Pakistan will host the biennial Champions Trophy, regarded as the most important tournament after the World Cup, in October next year.
