Criminal escapes from police custody
Bangalore, Nov 5 (UNI) An accused in 18 robbery cases in and around Amaravathi town in Maharashtra, escaped from police custody while being brought to the city for narco analysis tests today.
ACP Venkata Naik told UNI that Rahman Khan, who had been earlier arrested in connection with his involvement in robbery cases, was presently on bail. He was, however, brought to the city from Amaravathi for Narco tests as per a local court order.
However, when the Maharashtra policemen took him to the city-based National Forensic Laboratory, he escaped under the guise of attending nature's call.
Efforts were on to trace the accused, Mr Naik added.
