Cong attacks Kerala Planning Board
Pathanamthitta, Kerala, Nov 5 (UNI) Senior Congress leader V M Sudheeran today said the ''cold war'' between the State Planning Board and various departments had badly affected the Annual Plan Programmes of Local Self Administrative Bodies.
Inaugurating a dharna, organised by the United Democratic Front (UDF), he said the State Planning Board headed by the Chief Minister had not held its full-fledged meeting for the past eight months. As a result, all development activities had come to a standstill, he added.
Mr Sudheeran alleged that the state government had been pursuing the ''policy of Tughlak.'' Accusing the LDF of sabotaging the 'People's Plan', he said the Panchayats were busy giving ' finishing touches' to their respective plan projects. Given the prevailing situation, the projects would not be completed by January.
The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues, by blaming the officials for the imbroglio, were revealing their inherent weakness, he said.
