Centre directed to file counter affidavit in promotions case

Allahabad, Nov 5 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has directed the Central government to file a counter affidavit on a writ petition, challenging the promotions of the coordinators in Nehru Yuva Kendra.

The order was passed by a division bench comprising Justices R K Agarwal and S P Mehrotra on a writ petition filed by S K Mathur and others.

According to the petition, the Government of India started Nehru Yuva Yojna in 1972. As per the scheme, Nehru Yuva Kendra was set up in 1987 under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, New Delhi. The petitioner was appointed as youth coordinator in the Kendra.

However, a dispute had arisen regarding the promotions of the petitioners.
