Two smugglers arrested with 2 kg charas in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 4 (UNI) Two people were arrested for possessing two kg of charas in Ganderbal district.
Sub District Police Officer (SDPO) Dr Harmeet Singh, had recieved information about the activities of charas smugglers in Sumbal area of Ganderbal district.
Subsequently, Station House Officer (SHO) , Sumbal, Inspector Abdul Hamid conducted an operation at Chandergeer village and arrested Ghulam Mohammad and Reyaz Ahmad Bhat alongwith two kg of charas worth several lakh of rupees in the international market.
The state police have so far destroyed poppy and other narcotic crops over several lakh kanals of land in the Kashmir valley during this winter.
The police also arrested about a dozen other smugglers during the period alongwith charas, heroin and other drugs.
