Patna, Nov 4 (UNI) Bihar Rajya Kisan Sabha today announced to stage a dharna on December 5, against anti-farmer policies of the state government.
General secretary of the sabha Avdhesh Kumar here alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's promise to offer a grant of Rs 4,000 per hecteare to the farmers to compensate the damage caused by the floods still remains unfulfilled.
He had also promissed to provide shelter to those who lost their homes during the flood under Indra Awas Yojna which is also unfulfilled.
He maintained that the rates of manure, pesticides, seeds and food items were increasing continuously,adding to the problems faced by the people from these flood-ravaged farmers.
He alleged that the two years' tenure of the ruling NDA in the state was anti-poor and anti-farmers. He also demanded quick allotment of land for shelter to the farmers, facilities according to the BPL list and stay on bataidari system.
