Lucknow, Nov 4 (UNI) The undisputed queen of the Herbal cosmetic world Shahnaz Husain, who has been continuously striving hard to nourish the skin of people to make them look younger, today noted health was more important than beauty.
''In the contemporary times, people are becoming more and more conscious about the way they look. But, better health is a road to beauty and one should always keep this in mind,'' the beauty expert, who recently opened Shahnaz Ayurveda Aesthetic Clinic on Harley Street in London, told UNI.
Shahnaz was on a visit to the state capital before leaving for Paris shortly to receive 'the WQC International Star Award for Quality', being conferred on her organisation. The award is in the platinum category and recognises her group's leading position in the international market in Ayurvedic beauty care.
The herbal legend had earlier received many awards comprising 'The Arch of Europe Gold Star for Quality', 'The 2000 Millennium Medal of Honor', 'Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award' and many more.
Shahnaj, who would later address a press meet and speak on Ayurveda in Egypt , said ''almost 230 chemicals in several forms enter our body daily affecting our health badly. One needs to adopt yoga and meditation, which prove miraculous both for health and beauty. Our eating habits does not play a very major role in this, rather the fast moving life is more responsible for ill-heath and several beauty problems.'' ''I do not know why the traditional herbal remedies were frozen into brick and mortar. The reality is ayurveda and yoga are key to good health. If the government desires, a lot can be done as there is a lot of potential and possibilities in these two fields,'' she observed.
Reminiscing her student life here Shahnaj noted ''the city of nawabs payed a novel role in my success. I did my primary eduction here and the city would always be close to my heart.'' Shahnaz Husain has ushered an era of herbal cosmetics.
She has not only been able to tap the markets of India, but has also made her presence felt in the international market.
