Punjab whip Haryana by an innings in Umrigar trophy

Patiala, Nov 3 (UNI) Punjab whipped Haryana by an innings and 91 runs on the final day of the Inter-State cricket tournament (Under-15) for Polly Umrigar Trophy at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium here today.

With this win, Punjab earned five points plus a bonus point, while Haryana failed to earn a point.

Overnight 39 for 2 in 13.4 overs, Haryana were bowled out for 171 in 68.3 overs. Though Divendra scored a brilliant century (101), hitting 17 fours, he could not save Haryana from the ignominious defeat.

For Punjab, Arjun Kumar bowled superbly to capture 4 wickets, giving away 24 runs. V Choudhary and Sumit bagged 2 wickets each conceding 32 and 24 runs respectively.

Well placed in the tournament, Punjab's next match is against underdogs Himachal Pradesh.
