Proline Fitness plans expansion

Mumbai, Nov 3: Proline Fitness has announced its plans to expand their number of outlets to 62 by March 2008 and 87 by the end of 2010.

There will also be an additional store in Sri Lanka.

Proline Fitness expanded from 36 stores in March 2007 to 54 stores in October 2007. It currently has an extensive network spanning over 25 cities. Enjoying dominant market share, the Company has achieved a growth rate of over 60 per cent in the last year.

Proline Fitness has a complete range of fitness equipment for home as well as commercial use. The fitness equipment market, branded and unbranded, is estimated at Rs 300 crore, while the home segment accounts for Rs 170 crore and the commercial segment for Rs 130 crore.

Speaking to reporters, Proline Marketing Manager Divya Batra said ''The commercial segment is growing rapidly with rise in number of gyms, apartment complex's gyms and corporates installing gyms in their premises. As people are becoming increasingly conscious of the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle, purchase of fitness equipments in the home segment has also gone up.'' In west zone, the Company plans to open outlets in Mumbai (Khar, Andheri, Borivili) while in south zone in cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore, Trivandrum, Coimbatore and Pondicherry and in north zone in Delhi (Pitampura) and Kanpur.
