Lalu takes light his security cover withdrawal
Patna, Nov 3 (UNI) Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today said withdrawal of security cover by the state government was "insignificant" for him.
Mr Prasad told newspersons here that he was provided with the special security cover under the Bihar Special Security Act, which facilitated security cover to a former Chief Minister till five years of relinquishing the post.
The period for the special security cover could be extended after review by the state government.
He said the issue was "unimportant" for him as more than five years had lapsed since he demitted the office of Chief Minister.
Mr Prasad further said he would not care even if the state government withdrew the special security and vehicles from his wife and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi and maintained that he would not demand any security cover from the state government.
The Special Act providing special security to the Chief Minister and the former Chief Minister for five years was framed during the RJD regime in 2000.
Meanwhile, Mr Prasad following withdrawal of security was moving by his private vehicle since his arrival here from New Delhi last night.
