New Delhi, Nov 3: In another speeding Blueline bus mishap, one person was killed and two others injured when a bus plying on route number 621 ran over pavement dwellers in the R K Puram area on Saturday morning.
With today's incident, the Blueline death toll has shot up to 103 persons so far this year. As the news spread, an angry mob blocked the R K Puram road and pelted stones at two DTC busses passing by. The injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
“When I was at home, I saw a Blueline bus smashed into a tree. Then I heard them saying on the news channels that three people had died in the collision but when I reached the spot I found out that one has died and two others are in the hospital," says an eyewitness.
The High Court had recently asked the government to explain its stand and tell the court of the measures that the government planned to take to solve the problem of Blueline buses. The deadline given by the court is November 15.
In the past six months, Blueline buses have killed more than 64 people on Delhi roads. At present, 3,800 Blueline buses run on Delhi roads.
