New Delhi, Nov 3(UNI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have worked out a month-old abduction-cum-murder case and arrested two people in this connection.

Lalit Kumar, a resident of Mandoli Extension in north-east Delhi, had reported on October 12 that his brother, Rattan Lal, alias Monu(20), had received a call on his mobile phone on October 5 evening and had gone outside without informing anyone in the house, only to never return again.

The next day his family members received a call on a mobile that their younger son had been abducted and the alleged abducter demanded Rs 6 lakh in exchange for his release, failing which he threatened Monu would be killed.

A case of kidnapping for ransom was subsequently registered at Nand Nagri police station and an investigation launched.

During the course of investigation, a north-east district police team looked for him in Uttar Pradesh also and learnt that an unidentified body of a young boy had been found near Gadda Gagan Vihar there which matched the description of Monu, later confirmed by his family members.

Those arrested in the case were identified as Rakesh(22) and Arun Kumar(20), both residents of Mandoli Extension.
