J and K bundled out for 194,Railways 39 for no loss

New Delhi,Nov 3 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir openers gave their side a solid start but were let down by other batsmen as the visitors were bundled out for paltry 194 runs by the Railways on the opening day of the four-day Group B Ranji Trophy Plate league match here today.

At stumps,in reply Railways were 39 for no loss with Siddharth Joshi batting on 21 and A. Pagnis on seven.

The way debutant I.D.Singh and Sajjad Shiekh batted for the first wicket it looked as J and K were going to amass huge total but that was not to bne.

I.D.Singh(62) and Sajjad Shiekh(40) put up 104 runs in 37.5 overs for the first wicket but after that seamers Harvinder Singh, S.R.Saxena and spinner M.S.Yadav ran through the Jammu and Kashmir batting line up as nine other batsmen could add up only 91 runs to the team's kitty.

Harvinder and Yadav claimed four wickets each while Saxena took two.

I.D.Singh was at the crease for 162 minutes and was particularly harsh on Harvinder but once he was dismissed by Yadav,who had him caught by Pagnis the visitors Innings collapsed like house of cards.

He hit 11 boundaries in his knock.Sajjad Shiekh was next to go with Harvinder claimimg his wicket.The opener stay put at the crease for 180 minutes during which he hit three boundaries.

Vijay Sharma was the only other batsman who put up some resistance scoring 36 runs in 96 minutes while Hardeep Singh and S.Beigh chipped in 16 runs each.

The way other batsmen threw away their wickets was baffling because there was no demon in the turf as was clearly demonstrated by the openers and later Vijay sharma.

Harvinder was expensive as he conceded 97 runs in 24 overs while Yadav turned out to be more incisive and economical claiming 4 wickets for just 22 runs in 22.3 overs.
