Haryana to spend Rs 76 cr on sports stadia in villages

Sonepat, Nov 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the state government would spend Rs 76 crore for the construction of sports stadia in the rural areas of the state.

The Chief Minister stated this while addressing a gathering on the 33rd Annual Day Function of Motilal Nehru Sports School at Rai in Sonepat district.

He congratulated the school authorities for being recently awarded ISO 9001-2000 mark by United Kingdom.

The Chief Minister said the development of any nation and area could be judged by the achievements of the players. He gave many illustrations of developed nations to prove his point.

He said the state government was giving equal emphasis on the development of sports and education. The budget of education and sports had been increased manifold and to ensure that the shortage of funds should not become any obstacle in the development of these fields.
