Govt knows slain woman's identity, hushing matter: Lalu
Patna, Nov 3 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today claimed that the body of a woman found here, which triggered a furore after allegations of the involvement of JD(U) MLA Anant Singh in her rape and murder surfaced, was of Reshma, the sister-in-law of a slain private security guard of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The RJD supremo told newspersons here that Teni, the private security guard, was killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force. Family members of the deceased still lived in the premises of the Chief Minister's official residence.
He said that Reshma was the sister of Teni's widow and alleged that the police was feigning ignorance despite being aware of the fact.
''The government is trying to mislead the people and has recommended a CBI probe with the sole motive of hushing up the matter.
He said the RJD would fight till the end to provide justice to the victim's family and asked Mr Kumar to get the cases of rape and murder instituted against Anant Singh, one of the CM's close aides, on the basis of a letter recovered from the body.
Mr Prasad asked Mr Kumar to explain ''his links'' with Anant Singh who had ''unleashed a reign of terror'' in his assembly constituency, Mokameh.
The woman's body was found near Anant Singh's residence recently.
