Mumbai, Nov 3: Beverages major Diageo India has launched its first domestic wine 'Nilaya', inspired by the 'blue heaven' and targetted at the youth.
Packaged in a blue bottle with a rip-open cap, the wine made from grapes from Nasik and blended by Italian wine masters will be available in four varieties - Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz Rose and Shiraz Cabernet.
''We think we got a wine that has exceeded our expectations after working nine months on it,'' said Asif Adil, managing director of Diageo India.
Diageo plans to launch Nilaya in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Goa.
The wine industry is growing at 40 per cent with the drink perceived as a healthly lifestyle statement.
