Diageo India launches wine 'Nilaya'

has
launched
its
first
domestic
wine
'Nilaya',
inspired
by
the
'blue
heaven'
and
targetted
at
the
youth.
Packaged in a blue bottle with a rip-open cap, the wine made from grapes from Nasik and blended by Italian wine masters will be available in four varieties - Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz Rose and Shiraz Cabernet.
''We think we got a wine that has exceeded our expectations after working nine months on it,'' said Asif Adil, managing director of Diageo India.
Diageo plans to launch Nilaya in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Goa.
The wine industry is growing at 40 per cent with the drink perceived as a healthly lifestyle statement.
