New Delhi, Nov 3(UNI) With the arrest of a youth, the Delhi Police today claimed to have cracked the sensational Aditi Gupta murder case in Churu district of Rajasthan in August.
On August 23 this year, one Nand Lal Gupta had reported the disappearance of his daughter Aditi from their house in Churu in Rajasthan. Three days later, her body was recovered there by the state police and a case in this connection registered at Rajgarh police station.
Although the Rajgarh police arrested two co-accused in the case, main accused Praduman was absconding.
Acting on a tip-off, a Delhi Police team, headed by Inspector Partima Sharma, constituted for solving the case, apprehended Praduman from Pira Garhi in west Delhi.
During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, saying since he was very close to the girl, her growing proximity with some other man had irked him which prompted him to strangle her to death and dispose of her body at a secluded place after defacing it by burning.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has informed its Rajasthan counterpart about the arrest.
