Jammu, Nov 2 (UNI) A fiery bowling spell by Ravneet Kour helped Punjab register a big win of 186 runs over hosts Jammu and Kashmir in the Senior Women Cricket tournament here today.
Ravneet bowled a tight 4.5 over spell with one maiden and claimed five wickets for just two runs and guided visitors to a huge victory. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, the Punjab eves set a satisfactory target of 262 runs in the stipulated 50 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Excellent batting by Gurdeep Kour, who made 72 runs off 126 balls with six boundaries and Renu Magret, who made a quick 97 from 93 deliveries (10x4) helped Punjab pile up a giant target against the host team.
Besides, Anureet Kour contributed 37 runs from 48 balls with seven boundaries while richa sehgal added 10.
The J&K skipper Roopali Slathia however, restricted the Punjab side as she clinched two wickets for 47 runs while Muzammlil Mushtaq and Payal Choudhary shared one wicket each.
Chasing a tough target of 262 runs, the JKCA team collapsed for a meagre 76 runs in 39.5 overs. Payal choudhary remained the top scorer with 29 runs off 73 balls followed by Musrat Ahad with 11 runs. No other player from JKCA, crossed double figures and the hosts lost by 186 runs.
Ravneet Kour crippled the JKCA innings with five wickets while Supriya and Rajwinder Kour also constrained the opponents.
They shared two wickets each while richa sehgal took one wicket.
JKCA would now take on Haryana at Rohtak in their next tie.
