Police arrest a person for issuing threatening letters
Gulbarga, Nov 2 (UNI) Police arrested a man for writing threatening letters, targeting places of worship, located in the city.
Superintendent of Police Manish Kabirkar told reporters here today that police had arrested Shaikh Yasuffuddin (32) yesterday at Dandoti in Chittapur taluk in this district.
The accused Yasuffuddin, an engineering graduate, had written letters to famous Sharanabasaveshwara temple and Mahebes mosque threatening to bomb them.
During interrogation, he confessed that he had written the letters in an effort to create communal hatred between Hindus and Muslims.
Mr Kabirkar said police were investigating to establish whether he had any links with terrorist outfits.
The police have strengthened security as a precautionary measure at places of worship, he added.
