Natasha claims a double in Asian Tennis Ranking

Chandigarh, Nov 2 (UNI) Second seed and ranked fifth in ATF, Natasha Palha claimed a double by winning the girls Under-14 singles as well as doubles crown in the in the Asian Ranking Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Stadium in Sector 10 here today.

Natasha toppled top seeded Vaidehi Bhagvat in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (3) in a well- contested singles final. Natasha Palha went on to win the doubles title as she partnered Vaidehi Bhagwat to defeat Anushka Bhargava and Zainab Ali Sajjad 6-0, 6-4 in the girls under-14 doubles final.

Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association trainee Digvijay Singh Mehta claimed the boys singles under-14 title. Mehta covered the court well and agility to beat third seed and ranked eighth in ATF rankings Aashman Goghari, in straight set 6-3, 6-2.

Entrant as wild card, Mehta remained consistent throughout the tournament. In five matches on way to winning the boys singles trophy, Digvijay Mehta lost only 16 games and won 60.

Saiteja Paladugu and Tushal Thawani defeated Ronit Bisht (Ind) and aizan Khurram 6-1, 6-1 in the boys Under-14 doubles final.
