MUSS selects 12 players, 4 coaches for training in UK

By Staff

Panaji, Nov 2 (UNI) Manchester United Soccer School (MUSS) has announced the names of twelve Goan footballers who have been selected for a week-long intensive training at the Manchester United Residential Summer School next summer.

The selected footballers managed to beat off intensive competition from 5000 others over the past one week at the Nehru Stadium Fatorda at Margao in South Goa. Their skills were assessed through a series of tests based on the MUSS model.

The footballers selected are Hasten D'Costa, Aaron Fernandes, Myron Fernandes, Keenan Almeida, Ryan Colaco, Agnelo Fernandes, Reymond Rodrigues, Brandan Fernandes, Cassious Cardozo, John Pereira, Regan Pereira and Daryel Endro.

Mr Steve Jones, International Manager MUSS said, It was an extremely difficult job to select the twelve footballers but it was also highly enjoyable. They were tested for a variety of skills including ball control, awareness, speed and technical skill under the watchful eyes of six coaches from MUSS. The selection process focused on picking the best players and not necessarily on any age group.

The MUSS team has also selected four coaches from the local team of coaches that assisted during the week-long selection. The coaches -- Paul Bast, Avinash Costa, Mario Aguair and Shekhar Kerkar will also earn a trip to Manchestar.
