Chandigarh, Nov 2 (UNI) To create awareness among the masses about the drug abuses and the ill effects of doping on budding sportspersons, the Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) in collaboration with the Federation of Jat Institutions and Jat Sabha, Chandigarh, is organising a National Seminar on Prevention of Drug Abuses and Doping on December 9 at the Jat Bhawan here.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has given directions to the State Olympic Associations, National Sports Federations and other sports organisations to organise the seminar on drug abuses and doping.
According to the HOA secretary general Dr M S Malik, national and international experts in doping and renowned doctors will deliver lectures and present their papers during the seminar. World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) accredited exports from India will also participate in the seminar.
Physical education experts and students from universities, colleges, schools, State Olympic Associations, Sports Associations from Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttranchal, Delhi and other states, Arjuna Awardees, international sportspersons and various sports organisations will also be invited to participate in the seminar.
