Gujjar rally tomorrow; Delhiites to combat with snarls

New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) Delhiites may have to grapple with traffic gridlocks tomorrow as the traffic police today cautioned city motorists against taking certain routes in view of the rally by the Akhil Gujjar Mahasabha in which more than 10,000 people from neigbouring states are expected to participate.

It has cautioned the city residents against taking their vehicles on J L N Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, Subash Marg BSZ Marg, DDN Marg, IP Marg, SP Mukherjee Marg, Minto Road, Bhav Bhuti Marg, Mathura Road, Tilak Marg, Bhairon Road and Ring Road from ISBT to Nizamuddin Bridge from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs.

City buses will have to take detours via Ram Lila Ground Asaf Ali J L N Marg, Subash Marg, BSZ Marg and Ranjit Marg as the nose-to-tail traffic is expected on these routes.

Those attending the rally have been directed to station their vehicles at Tagore Road, MCD Parking Asaf Ali Road, Mata Sundari Mirdard Marg, Vellodrom Road and IGI Stadium.

The rally is expected to last till 1530 hrs.

All commercial vehicular traffic on Ring Road between Wazirabad and Nizamuddin Bridges is prohibited from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs.

People headed to reach New Delhi Railway Station must take Ring Road turn on SPM Marg and those wishing to travel to North-South axis have been asked to take Rani Jhansi Road or Ring Road.

Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made for the rally and road users advised to follow the directions given by the traffic personnel with a view to avoiding inconvenience and hold-ups.
