College girl injured in acid attack
Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 2 (UNI) A final year BSc student suffered burns as a junior college lecturer threw acid at her after she spurned his proposal, at Palasa in this district, today.
Police said the lecturer, Ch Damodar, had been forcing the student, K Kalpana (21) of Akkupalli village, to love him. Irked by her refusal to entertain his advances, Damodar stopped her while she was proceeding to college in an autorickshaw and threw acid at her.
He threatened the other occupants of the auto and passersby with the acid bottle and fled the scene.
Kalpana suffered 60 per cent burns, especially in her shoulders, and was admitted to the Government Hospital at Palasa.
