CM assures support to ICFS to implement village improvement project
Chandigarh, Nov 1 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today assured Government's support and cooperation to Indo-Canadian Friendship Society (ICFS) for implementation of village improvement project in the state.
Mr Badal gave the assurance to former Canadian Minister Harb Dhariwal who called on the Chief Minister at his residence here today.
Mr Dhariwal, who was accompanied by ICFS Director Dr Gurdev Singh, apprised Mr Badal about the village improvement project being planned by ICFS for Punjab.
Under the project, supply of drinking water, underground sewerage system connected to each household, waste water treatment, paving of streets with concrete, solar lighting, creation of parks and computer education in school in a sustainable manner in some villages have been planned.
Mr Dhaliwal informed that ICFS had already completed six such state-of-the-art village projects in the state and two were under process.
