CISF jawan kills colleague, attempts suicide

Guwahati, Nov 2 (UNI) A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was shot dead by his colleague, who later tried to kill himself at Namrup in Dibrugarh district of upper Assam today. The incident took place in front of the gate of a fertiliser plant at Namrup, where the two jawans were deployed.

Constable Balai Kundu fired three rounds and shot dead Havildar M Sharma from his SLR.

Later, Kundu tried to kill himself and was taken to the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh in a serious condition with gun shot injuries.

The reason for the killing was not yet known though personal rivalry was suspected to be the cause.
