CII signs MoU with BSI to develop quality standards

Bangalore, Nov 2 (UNI) British Standards Institute (BSI), the world's oldest and largest standards and certification body, today signed an MoU with CII for working together in the area of standards and best practices.

The MoU was signed by BSI Group Communications Director Frank Post and CII Institute of Quality Head S K Kakkar during the 15th CII Quality Summit in the city.

''The BSI already provides support for a wide range of products including quality, environmental management and health and safety.

We look forward to using our expertise to support the membership of CII and standardisation in India,'' Mr Post told newspersons after signing the MoU.

BSI's involvement in India was long standing with BSI Management systems currently employing 100 people across ten offices.

The CII and BSI had worked closely with Bureau of Indian Standards and the Quality Council of India, sharing information and promoting international standardisation.

Under the terms of the MoU, the BSI and CII would hold joint events, seminars, conferences and exchange information on best practices.

The BSI would provide its technical expertise to develop and implement standards in Indian industry.
